Salmon juvenils

IA SAT "Salmon" Abundance Indices

These indices (number of juveniles caught per 5 minutes of fishing) (Prévost et al 1993) are generally recorded in late September at 10 stations along the Oir river and at two further stations on the Roche and Pont-Lévêque streams.

Procedure

IA SAT Oir

All juveniles caught are measured (FL = fork length to the nearest millimetre), weighed (W to the nearest 0.1 g) and sexed (maturing males are referred to as precocious males). Scales are collected depending on the size of the individuals, and any markings are noted.
