Whilst the trout fishing season opened on 14 March 2026, fishing for wild Atlantic salmon will remain banned again this year...

Can this highly migratory fish still be preserved in French rivers?

With a view to short-term effectiveness, the priority is to restore the ecological continuity of habitats, that is to say, to reduce the number of obstacles (dams in particular) that stand in its way…"
